“Be quiet!” said Jesus sternly. “Come out of him!” The evil spirit shook the man violently and came out of him with a shriek. Mark 1:25
Now, this man sat in the service and became agitated because Jesus was speaking with authority. The authority that Jesus walked in got the attention of everybody else who attended the service, too. But this man, possessed with a demon had no respect for Jesus speaking and hollered out at him in the service, even telling Jesus that he knew that he was the, “holy one from God.” Jesus didn’t play with this demon who was speaking through the man; he just simply commanded him with authority to come out. Now that demon didn’t come out of the man quietly, but violently shook the man and let out a loud scream, before he exited his body. If the shaking didn't unnerve the people, then the scream surely did. I begin to think, if this scene would have happened today, this demon would have intimidated the average preacher and caused the entire church to exit the building through new exit points. Anointing oil would be thrown all over the church walls and floors and holes in the walls from the people trying to get away. The demon didn’t exit the host body quietly and wanted to cause fear in the hearts of the people, but Jesus wasn’t intimidated by this spirit. He knew the authority he walked in.
Have you ever noticed that when you speak a release over your problem, that it appears to get worse? It is usually at this point that we lose faith in overcoming the problem and began to doubt that we have the power to speak to our giant and watch it flee. The issue looks bad, but once you begin to pray and declare that your mountain be removed, everything gets worse. It will even speak back to you and tell you that things are going to get worse. It is at this point that we give up and resign ourselves to be a victim of our circumstances. Whether it is a demon, bills, poor health, a shaky marriage, demonic attacks or whatever, you have the authority to speak to your issue and believe that it will flee.
One thing the enemy fears and it is you getting the revelation of who you are in Christ and the authority he has granted you. All authority was given to Jesus and He, gave it to us. The authority God has given us is to dispel the powers of darkness that have crippled people with fear or kept them bound and to influence the atmosphere whenever we show up. We were not called to walk in fear, doubt and intimidation. When you walk in authority, demons will cry out and try to disrupt what you are saying or doing, but recognize who you are and what you have been called to do.
My children use to put their fists together and say, “power rangers, unite,” and then they would begin to fight with the opposing team. Their power came from uniting with others who were of like mind and strength, who had the same power and authority as they did. The kids felt stronger and more powerful when they came into agreement with someone else who was a “power ranger” and no one could defeat them. This is the way the Church should operate. The power of agreement in our authority in Christ causes us to walk as one. Oneness causes us to walk in power and authority. This unity will cause thousands to flee because of our authority and agreement. One will put a thousand to flight but two will put ten thousand to flight; look at the awesome power of multiplication!!!! Remember, iron sharpens iron. We are strong when we unite with other Believers who walk in strength.
So, I decree and declare that in this new year, that you come into agreement with others who walk in kingdom authority to profess over the territories and atmospheres, with power and authority, “saints of the Most High God, UNITE.” When this is done, there will be a violent shaking and the powers of darkness will flee, because the kingdom of God has come near them and you know that you are anointed to walk in authority.
Be exceedingly blessed as you recognize that your very steps are ordered by the Lord. You can’t be defeated as you declare dominion over all things and walk in your royal role, anointed for authority as kings and priests on the earth.
