For out of the abundance of the heart the mouth speaks. A good man out of the good treasure of his heart brings forth good things, and an evil man out of the evil treasure brings forth evil things…for by your words you will be justified and by your words you will be condemned.
Matt 12:34b-35; 37.
A good man out of the good treasure of his heart brings forth good; and an evil man out of the evil treasure of his heart brings forth evil. For out of the abundance of the heart his mouth speaks.
Luke 6:45
Abundance means: abound; remain; increase; for more; out of measure; exceeding
Heart means: the soul; life; mind. It is the seat of our emotions and passions; activity of the mind, seat of appetites; activity of the character and activity of the will.
Here is the question. What’s in your heart? We are always speaking, but what are we really saying? Are we speaking from the wells of living waters which resides in us by the Spirit of the Living God? Or are we speaking from our soulish realm? So many times our mouths speak words of failure or defeat, but it isn’t words that I am concerned with; it is the matter of the heart. The Word of God reveals that out of the abundance of the heart or thoughts we speak and confess things into our lives, for you shall have what you say. We speak either negative or positive things but whatever we speak is what consumes our thoughts. Many people wake up in the morning with garbage on their minds. They digest hour after hours of negative television and telephone conversations which causes their thoughts to be on nothing but negative things. When our minds or hearts are consumed with that which is negative, then we will process everything that is said and done in a negative light and bad news for some of you; you will possess what you are confessing. When someone says something to us that could be a similar situation to what we have watched on television or heard by the mouth of people we become quick to take offense. Garbage in; garbage out! Don’t get me wrong, I fully understand that some people who are negative are operating from past experiences or learned behavior from their childhood. We can be delivered from these things by surrendering them to the Lord. But who walk in anger, offense or unforgiveness, which are matters of the heart, we will eventually become depressed or sick. Some people walk around with a permanent frown on their faces because of what is going on in their hearts. Someone may say to them, “good morning” and their response will be “what’s so good about this morning?” Now I know all of us know someone like that. We usually run as fast and far away as we can from such people and God forbid if we are one of them. But if we say we are born again, then we must realize that we are now new creatures and our past and negative thoughts should be placed under the Blood of Jesus.
I can’t, I won’t, they don’t like me, I’m not good enough, pretty enough, young enough, old enough, rich enough, smart enough, anointed enough are some of the words we speak on a daily basis. We must get our minds off of self and put it on Christ. In Him there is no failure; only success, for we can do ALL things through Jesus Christ, who strengthens us. I can’t fail in Christ, for my success does not depend on me, but on Him. When we fully see Jesus, we won’t focus on self but on glorifying Him in all things. We won’t be concerned about how anointed we are or are not, because we will understand that the Holy Spirit is the one who is the giver of all gifts. How can we lose when we serve such a great God? When our eyes are fixed on Christ our conversation changes from negative to positive; from death to life, for in Christ is life and light. We will come out of the darkness and be propelled into His marvelous light. We will then hear Him speak and will not be concerned or consumed about what man says about us. We will not live for the accolades of man but for the pleasure of God. We will live, move and have our being in Christ Jesus and will not speak Words of death to ourselves or situations. When we truly love God we will love others as we love ourselves. Our words will then manifest life and light. We will find that we will only see that which is beautiful in others and will think good thoughts.
What’s in your heart? For out of the abundance of it will flow Words of either life or death. We are in a season of abundance in the Church. You will get what you confess. If you confess positive words (because you believe that God is your strength) then you will manifest positive situations around you. If you love the Lord then you will keep His command. You will then walk in abundant blessings. Now don’t get me wrong, I am not professing that you will not have trials and tribulations (they will probably increase) but in the midst of these situations you will see God’s hand on your life. You will recognize the handiwork of God on every situation and know that He is with you. You will comprehend God’s love toward you and the beauty of life in spite of the situation you are in. When life would normally feel like a mountain on your shoulders, you won’t feel the weight, for you will be fully aware that singing praises to God will lighten your load. You will experience unspeakable joy, knowing that man didn’t give it to you and man can’t take it away.
Paul and Silas found themselves in a terrible situation after being thrown into prison for preaching the gospel, but praise caused an angel to shake the very foundation and the prison doors opened and they were released from that thing which held them. Your praise of God’s beauty will release you from the bondage of negativity and open doors of Heaven for you. True praise will release you from the bondages of the spirit of offense and from the hordes of hell.
What’s in your heart? I pray praise, worship and adoration to your God. I pray you are able to see the good the people of God and in yourself. I pray that you remember that God has positioned His angels around you to keep you. I pray you realize that Jesus is coming back and His reward is waiting on you. I pray you will see the Lord. What’s in your heart? I pray the song of the Lord, for the Word says we will sing a “new song” to the Lord. It doesn’t matter what your circumstances are, what only matters is who you are in Christ. Be blessed during this season of abundant blessings from the Lord. I decree this day that you be released from negative thoughts in your heart and to speak words of life to bring you to a place of glorious living.
