As the truth of Christ is in me, this boasting of mine will not be silenced... (2 Corinthians 11:10)
Superstars boast about all the money and luxury they have and we covet them for it. Music stars lie about the murdering, drug dealing lifestyles they live and we mimic them. Men boast about all the women and sex they get and we praise them for it. Women boast about the beauty of their bodies and how they use it to get what they want and we lust after them. Homosexuals live their lifestyles flamboyantly for the world to see and we embrace it.
So why is it that if I boast about my Lord and Savior Jesus Christ I'm throwing God in everybody's face? Why is it that when I share my beliefs I'm forcing my "religion" on others? Why is it that when I speak on my faith I must quiet down? Why is it that when I speak the truth I'm throwing salt on everybody's game? Why is that when I choose to be a believer and live my lifestyle as Jesus commanded that I think I'm better than everyone else? Since when did trying to live right become living wrong?
Jesus said for His name's sake, we will be persecuted, delivered to tribulation and put to death (Mat. 24:10). But blessed are those who suffer for righteousness' sake (Mat. 5:8). If that's the sacrifice we have to make to gain eternal life and dwell in His presence then so be it. If we lose friends and the things of this world for living out the truth then we were living in lies. What you lose in this life does not matter, what you gain afterwards does matter.
So don't hold your tongue for anyone or any reason. It could mean someone's salvation or your place in judgement. So Proclaim the gospel of Christ boldly. Speak the truth unapologetically. Stand firm and be immovable. Fight the Good fight of the faith. For your reward is the Kingdom of Heaven.
