My Defender and Refuge

...because you have made the Lord your defender and the Most High (El Elyon)your refuge, no violence will touch you nor will any disaster strike your household. He will send His angels to take charge and protect you as you walk in His ways.

Psalms 91:9-11


As we see an increase of global violence, we are also witnessing a wave of global fear. There was a time when a person avoided certain places or being out after dark, the chances for becoming a victim of violence was cut down significantly.


However, it doesn't matter what time or where we go today, we can't be certain that violence won't hit us. Whether at the airport, work place, mall, walking down the street, sitting at home or attending church, there seems to be no hiding place. The spirit of fear is gripping the hearts of the people as they run to buy hand guns, security system, take defense lessons or put out videos on how to survive a madman with a gun. If our security is in how we can escape through these natural means, then we have little protection.


But, God has a secret weapon for those who love Him. He is our defender, the one who fights our battles and give His angels charge over us to protect us from the frightening experieces that comes to steal our peace. He dispatches His angels to stop the bullet, change the course of the "out of control" vehicle, or the heart of those who seek to harm or destroy us. He is our defender and our ever present help in time of trouble. El Elyon is our refuge and our hiding place from the storms of life.

"Come to Me, all who are burdened and heavy laden; come," says the Lord of Hosts. Come those who are weary of the ways of the world. For the secret place of El Elyon is your hiding place. He is beckoning you to come to the secret place, which is your refuge in Him; where there is no fear, depression or mental turmoil. You will find comfort for your soul and peace for your mind. In His secret place, the enemy has no access to you. Come, come, come to the hiding place of the Most High to abide and find rest in the sweet arms of El Elyon. His shadow will cover your mind and the worries and cares of this life will disapate as you gain access into the realm of God's presence. Come, enter in and receive His protection and direction as you find rest in Him. Receive from the One who is full of blessings, honor, glory and power; rest in His shadow as your concerns, fears, troubles and sicknesses fades, as you receive an overflow in His glorious presence.


Beloved, you have God's promise of entering into His rest, protection and deliverance from the strife and calamities of this world. Enter into the glory realm of El Elyon and into His promise of protection, because you have made Him your defender and refuge.
