The earth is the Lord’s and the fullness thereof; the world and those that dwell therein.
Psalms 24:1
Less than one month after Earth Day; the worship of the earth, the elements of the earth has turned against us yet again. May 1st beginning around 3:30 a.m. to the time of this writing, May 2nd, the south has found itself under the gun with storms, tornadoes, hail and flooding. We have experienced front after front of storms, and unbelievable rain and flooding to the point that the inhabitants of Tennessee and Arkansas are weary. Nashville is finding itself under water and some neighborhoods are virtual islands. So many are weary of these storms, but we are fortunate to live in a city that is equipped with sirens to alert us of impending danger. In two cities the levees broke and a massive number of people lost everything. In Millington, the Loosahatchie River broke loose and wreaked havoc on the city it ran through.
The people of the earth have worshipped gods that have turned against us. We love the earth or shall I say; we worship the earth and the elements of the earth. Those who love the earth have adopted slogans to remind the people not to forget it like, “Go Green”. I agree that we have to be mindful not to pollute the earth because we have been given the mandate by God to “take care of the earth but we are to keep the earth; not worship the earth. The very thing we have and are worshipping has betrayed us. Many worship the earth, wind, fire and water but the gods of earth, wind, fire and water have no spiritual power. So we see those things in the natural, cause us great pain. The earth is spewing out fire from volcanoes and wild fires, the wind churning up tornadoes and hurricanes; the earth is quaking and shaking and the water is stirring up Tsunamis, monsoons, hurricanes and floods. Yet the world hasn’t learned from any of these disasters nor do they realize that none of these elements can save them. The created thing cannot save us; only the Creator can deliver and protect us from all harm. We have made “gods” of those things that were created by the only true God. Many are fascinated by the elements of earth, wind, fire and water. They are indeed elements that we need in order to live and enhance our lives but they were never meant to be worshipped. Only God is worthy to be praised and worshipped. Put your trust in Him and Him only!
If My people, who are called by My name, will humble themselves and pray and seek My face and turn from their wicked ways; then I will hear from Heaven and forgive their sin and heal their land.
2 Chronicles 7:14
Intercessors, pray! Watchmen, pray! Gatekeepers, pray! When we humble ourselves and think of the harvest and all the suffering they are going through, our hearts should be moved to compassion. We can’t afford to get caught up in our own drama for we must be caught up in Christ Jesus, alone! Humility is better than sacrifice and God is looking for those who will worship Him in spirit and truth. Submit to God and resist the cares of this life. Repent so that we can be effective to intercede for a dying world and demonstrate His ways to them. Five-fold ministers, especially evangelists; get back on post to be effective in winning souls to Christ. Remember, God owns the earth and all that is within and not the gods of earth, wind, fire and water, these are elements created by God to serve us. These elements will either bless or curse you. We will continue to see the worst of things happen if we continue to worship the created thing. Our disobedience will come back to haunt us if our foundation is built on anything other than than the Rock, who is Jesus Christ. Repent Church, get on your walls and decree into the atmosphere that Jesus is Lord.
