And here’s the second offense: You fill the place of worship with your whining and sniveling because you don’t get what you want from God. Do you know why? Simple. Because God was there as a witness when you spoke your marriage vows to your young bride, and now you’ve broken those vows, broken the faithbond with your vowed companion, your covenant wife. God, not you, made marriage. His Spirit inhabits even the smallest details of marriage. And what does he want from marriage? Children of God, that’s what. So guard the spirit of marriage within you. Don’t cheat on your spouse. I hate divorce, says the God of Israel. God-of-the-Angel –Armies says, “I hate the violent dismembering of the “one flesh” of marriage. So watch yourselves, Don’t let your guard down. Don’t cheat.
Malachi 2:13-16 Message Bible
I write this blog to the Body of Christ and not to the world for we are out of order and will cause judgment to rain on our heads if we don’t repent and follow the heart of God. Statistics show that the divorce rate in the Church is as high as the divorce rate of the world. Even those who embrace the pulpits are not exempt from this destructive cycle. Some Preachers teach from the pulpits that if a man’s wife is not his “soul mate,” he can get a divorce or get himself a “spiritual wife” who satisfies him (we use to call this a mistress); this is scandalous! Some people come to Church in an attitude of praise but are looking for the next victim to have an affair with and violate their marriage vows (we use to call this a wolf). Many have cheated on their spouses on their jobs and think no one knows (we use to call this a dog). Heaven knows the spouse is unfaithful. We have people come before God in fellowship week after week living in sin (we have a nice word for this, it’s called co-habitation but we use to call it fornication) not giving it a second thought that a Holy God is displeased with their situation. What a terrible violation of the Word of God. These people don’t have the foggiest idea of the purpose of marriage.
The Lord spoke through the prophet Malachi that marriage is for the purpose of “godly offspring.” In this modern day, we have no reverence for God or His Word. We make “vows” and break them continuously. We vow before the minister, family, friends and God, to stay with one another for the rest of our lives and when things get rough or we see someone else that looks better than the person we are married to; possess more money, or laughs at all the sorry jokes, we began the cycle in our minds to get with that person.
God says, “He made marriage and that He inhibits even the smallest details of our marriages. He is in the house, the bedroom, the bathroom, the kitchen, the living room and the car. He sees and hears it all. Nothing is hidden from God. God created marriage to represent Christ relationship with the Church. We are to operate in an “oneness” of heart. The two shall become one. Power! Strength! Unity! Love! This unity of agreement will produce mighty works on the earth. His angels are there to hear every word spoken. What is God hearing from inside your camp? What are our children hearing in our secluded homes? Are they learning the ways of God or hypocrisy (say one thing but live another way). To this many of us must say, OUCH! God is calling the Church to repentance. Repent and change to follow every Word of God. He will not continue to turn His head from the things we are doing and calling ourselves “saved”. Those of us who are married have allowed the enemy to stay in our homes far too long. It is time to serve him his eviction papers and invite the Holy Spirit to come in and take up permanent residence.
To the Church of Laodicea
I know you inside and out, and find little to my liking. You’re not cold; you’re not hot—far better to be either cold or hot! You’re stale. You’re stagnant. You make me want to vomit. You brag, “I’m rich, I’ve got it made. I need nothing from anyone,” oblivious that in fact you’re a pitiful, blind beggar, threadbare and homeless. Here’s what I want you to do; buy your gold from Me., gold that’s been through the refiner’s fire. Then you’ll be rich. Buy your clothes from me, clothes designed in Heaven. You’ve gone around half-naked long enough. And buy medicine for your eyes from me so you can see, really see. The people I love, I call to account—prod and correct and guide so that they’ll live at their best. Up on your feet, then! About face! Run after God!
Rev. 3:15-19 Message Bible
There it is…run after God! That’s where we will be forgiven; in His presence. Run after God for He is waiting for you. He is waiting for you to come clean and He will cover you with His arms of protection and his awesome love. Run, I say, after God.
