Our Authority

And He said to them, "I saw Satan fall like lightning from heaven. Behold, I give you the authority to trample on serpents and scorpions; and over all the power of the enemy, and nothing shall by any means hurt you. Nevertheless, do not rejoice in this, that the spirits are subject to you, but rather rejoice because your names are written in heaven."
Luke 10:18-20

Authority, authority, authority...can you say this three times? Sometimes when we repeat a thing we are able to get it into our spirits and settle the matter once and for all. Authority is what Jesus gave us over the power of the enemy. Why do we worry? Why do we fret when we already have the authority? Jesus told us what kind of authority He was giving us...TO TRAMPLE ON THE THINGS OF DARKNESS THAT COME TO STRIKE OR STING US. Get this into you spirit...you have been given authority by God. Jesus knew His disciples would experience victory over the powers of darkness and that the demons were subjected to their command to release bound people and flee, so He told them not to rejoice over their power of deliverance for this was their heritage of son-ship. He didn't want them to be astounded that the demons are subjected to their commands. He knew the power they possessed was not an-issue for He had given them that power to walk in authority and dominion on the earth. He wanted them to rejoice that their names were written and known in Heaven. Consider this, Heaven knows your name and the principalities of Hell know your name too. Every time we minister the works of Jesus on the earth Heaven backs us up and Hell has to shake. Remember, whatever we bind in earth is bound in Heaven and whatever we loose on earth is loosed in Heaven. We have the VICTORY.

Just a note: Jesus prayed to Father after this event and rejoiced that His people finally got the revelation that they had the power to do damage to the kingdom of darkness. Jesus rejoices today when we get that same revelation and walk in it.
