Stand fast therefore in the liberty wherewith Christ hath made us free, and be not entangled again with the yoke of bondage.
Galatians 5:1
I saw a documentary on television once that depicted how elephants are trained. The baby elephant is chained to a spike in the ground close to a tree. The baby fights with all its might to be free of the chains but to no avail. As the baby grows it is placed under stronger chains but the young elephant, who has incredible memory, remembers that it can’t break free of the chains and ceases to struggle to get loose. It eventually grows to an adult and is now trained to a chain that it can easily break but because of their memory of not being able to break free; they don’t try.
I thank the Lord for He has set us free from bondage and has given us liberty. The problem is that most people don’t know that the shackles have been removed and that they have been set free. We do what we have always done because humans have incredible memory too and we live off past memory files. We remember that we have always worried about problems; we have always bent under peer pressure; we have always been paralyzed by fear, so we continue on this destructive course. We bow and allow ourselves to be manipulated by people who we know don’t have our best interest at heart but we allow these people to control us because we fear being alone or have negative words spoken about us. We accept intimidation and inferiority complexes from the enemy and live our lives as if we have not been set free by Jesus.
We are free! We have been set free from bondage, fear, and low living. We don’t have to entertain negative thoughts for God has made His joy available to us; it's free. Prophesy to yourself! You are more than a conqueror, you are the head and not the tail, you are first and not last; you are a king and a priest; you are the temple that houses the Spirit of God.
The shackles have been cut! The handcuffs removed! Your hands are no longer bound! Lift your hands and wave them. You are free and who the Son has set free, is free indeed! Close every door that you have allowed the enemy entrance into your lives. Write out a personal Declaration of Independence; write the vision and make it plain. Scream at the top of your voice to convince yourself. I AM FREE! No longer will I be bound in my thinking. Think on positive things. The moment any negative thought hits your brains; cast it down. Refuse to waddle in the mud of negative thoughts or attitudes. Think of lovely things; surround yourselves with lovely people who speak life and the goodness of God. Cut some friends and acquaintances out of your lives; they are poison to your spirit man. Make some new friends; surround yourselves with spiritual giants. Look up from the chicken yard at the eagles soaring above you. Soar man and woman of God. Soar above every situation for you can do ALL things through Jesus Christ who gives you strength.
Now, close your eyes; take a long deep breath and set your eyes on God’s throne and slowly say Jesus’ name. J E S U S! There is peace and rest in His name.
God has set you free; stay free. Stay exceedingly blessed.
