Sweet Presence of God

My son, Minister Kevin Brooks, made this profound statement that is true of many professing church folk..."people who fall away are only connected to the earthly goods that are added after following Christ.  Once that goes, the falling away comes.

Can one be so blind that they equate money and material things to the mighty hand of God?  Can God be followed only if He is producing wealth in our lives?  God forbid!  Get to know God for yourself and not on hearsay.

There is a peace in knowing that our future is secure in Christ and that He is with us and for us.  Who can be against us when God is for us? Even in our times of despair, we can know that He delights Himself in us.  You may ask, "God delights in me?  Yes, with great pleasure.  God's love for us is almost incomprehensible.  How can mere man understand the unsearchable love of Christ.  While we were yet sinners, without hope and dead men walking; He died for us.  He layed His life down for each one of us individually so that we could have eternal life; thats love.

Our expectation in Christ can't be in what He will do for us, nor what we can get out of Him, but delighting ourselves in His presence.  These poor souls who walk away know of God, but miss the overwhelming joy of knowing Him intimately.  To know Him and to experience His presence deep within and around us will cause us to stop everything to worship Him as He beckons us to draw near.  It's like spiritual surround sound; God in us and on us and around us.  This is the place of total peace and rest in Christ.  Be still in His presence and be satuated in the glory...be still and in this stillness, you will know that He alone is God.

There is a flow or sound that comes out of heaven that we are to release on the earth.  This sound releases the glory that God has placed deep within us to sing songs of worship to Him.  He pours an anointing into us so that we can give it back to Him as a sweet sacrifice.  The fragrance of our worship being released in our hearts to the Lord make a beautiful sound into His ears and He comes to inhabit our praise.  He anoints us to make a joyful noise to Him as He relish Himself in sweet intimacy with us.  Oh that the people will come to know God like this...money can't buy it.

There are so many benefits in knowing that He is our Shelter in the  time of storms.  He is our stabilizer when times seems shaky.  He is our Song that resonates deep in our spirit during the night and He is Sovereign when everything is uncertain.  He is El Shaddai, our God who is more than enough.  To really know Him is to love Him.  Thank you, Jesus.
