I keep asking that the God of our Lord Jesus Christ, the glorious Father, may give you the Spirit of wisdom and revelation, so that you may know Him better. Ephesians 1:17
Wisdom is the penetrating essence of the knowledge of God poured into our minds and spirits. He pours Himself into us so that we will know Him better. He gives us revelation of His insight on things that are important to His heart. Out of this place good judgment will flow forth from us. We will know in our inner man what to do in every situation because God has revealed Himself to us so that our minds can grasp who He is. Revelation and wisdom is poured into us from God so that we will come to know His heart and his will. He says that we may Know Him and the power of His resurrection. That is the power that was used to raise Christ from the dead. This power will be made manifest in us as we seek to know Him better.
My Christian life was pretty mundane until 1999 when I began to tell the Lord that I wanted to know Him better. After months of consistent praise to God for His goodness and worship for who He is, He began to meet me in the night hours in my bed. The first event was I was waking up in the night and I was signing a love song to God in my dreams. As I woke up I had a vision of holding both arms straight up in the air toward Heaven with a sword in my hands. Fire came down from heaven and consumed the sword and hit my hands and moved down my entire body to my feet. I was totally consumed by this fire and the Spirit of God was all over me and I began to sing this song, “I Stand in Awe of You.” The vision ended and I laid on my bed trying to figure out what had just happened. I had been consumed with the fire of God that anointed me for great works. My life was changed forever. No more mundane living; no more worries for I had the revelation that God was truly real. God has met me on many other occasions and has given me angelic visitations to instruct me in assignments that He was sending me on.
The Lord has continued to pour revelation and wisdom into me from His word and from personal experiences. He is our delight. He desires to place His very best in us and to give us as much of Him as we can stand. I know that it delights the Lord to reveal more of Himself to us and then watch us operate in the earth like Him. Ask the Lord for more of Him. He want us to totally relinquish wills to Him and He will give us more than we could have ever asked Him or even believed Him for.
What an awesome life He desires to give us. The Apostle Paul calls this life the abundant life. The meaning of abundant is: plentiful, rich and bountiful. Jesus desires to give us His absolute best. Expect God to give you wisdom and revelation so that you will come to know Him better. My prayer is that you will be consumed with the fire of God as He gives you wisdom and reveals Himself to you. That is His delight and it is the good life.
