REWARDS OF THE INNER ROOM

But when you pray, go into your inner room, and when you have shut your door, pray to your Father who is in secret, and your Father who sees in secret will repay you.
Matthew 6:6
This scripture reminds me of a bride who sneaks away to be with her bridegroom in an intimate union. She plans the time and place; shutting out everyone and everything else just to be with the one she loves. This is what Jesus is speaking about when He said that the Father is seeking worshippers. He is looking for those who passionately desire to spend uninterrupted time with Him, entering into a place where we will not be disturbed. We relish our time and conversations with God sharing with Him things we would never tell anyone else. Sharing our desires, hopes and dreams with and opening our hearts to Him; we know that He hears us and never judges us as we become transparent with Him. We know that He knows everything about us because He made us and is familiar with us. We trust Him and love Him. Because we know that He loves us we are able to move into a place of being completely unashamed to express our love for Him and abandoning everything else in life for that moment of pleasure with our God.

Going into a room and shutting the door is the signature of a lover making time for the one that is loved. Secret rendezvous’ with God will net open blessings and rewards in our lives. If we would wrap our minds around that promise we will understand that there are no short cuts to intimacy with God. The only way we will truly know Him is to spend quality time with Him.

When we make plans to worship and spend intimate time with God in secret, He sees and repays us far beyond our wildest imaginations or expectations. He delights Himself in us. He is drawn to us and lifts us up into the secret place with Him. We will not notice that we have been saturated and drenched in the fragrance of God but the world will know it. People will know that you have been with the Lord for you will look like Him in your character and by the fruit that you will produce.
How are we repaid by God? He repays worshippers with dreams and visions from on high and with heavenly encounters and visitations from the Lord. Angels surrounds true worshippers and delivers them from every situation and circumstance for they have been commissioned to minister to God’s people.

His,
Apostle Cynthia Brooks
