What's Covering Your Feet?

I was in a local store when I noticed the shoes on this man that appeared to be the longest shoes I have ever seen.  At closer observation, I noticed that he was wearing gators...serious gators; looked like baby alligators on his feet.  He was so proud when I asked him if I could take a picture of his shoes and gave me the biggest smile although the camera was on his feet.  Out of all the people in the store, this man's shoes commanded attention because he was wearing the baddest alligator shoes I have ever seen.

Shoes are big business and most women love a beautiful pair of shoes.  The regret of aging in older women is that we can't wear what we love, but what feels comfortable.  Apparently God is concerned about the covering of our feet as well and tells us in His word to shod or cover our feet with the gospel of peace.

and having shod your feet with the preparation of the gospel of peace.  Ephesians 6:15

What does Paul mean  by preperation of the gospel of peace?  Preparation means be prepared or be ready in every situation or attack from the enemy.  We steady ourselves with our feet and shoes give us a more sure stance on a solid foundation of God' s truth.  We ground our feet into the Rock that is Jesus, to keep us from stumbling.

He steadies us from the attacks of the enemy and we know that in Him is our peace.  We don't worry when we stand against the enemy because we stand on the fruit of peace from the Holy Spirit.  The arrows of warfare will be thrown at us, but we are suited up in the armor of God and we survive because our feet are covered in the gospel of peace that only God can give toward our victory.  With our feet being covered in the preparation of the gospel means that beforehand, we have studied, prayed and meditated on the word of God to know how to effectively stand and to war, for the weapons of warfare are mighty in God to the pulling down of strongholds and every thought and imagination (this is where fear lives) that exalts itself against the knowledge of God.  Fear is dispelled because we understand that perfect love cast out fear.  He teaches us how to war, which is powerful prayers, as He strengthens and gives us hinds feet like  a deer to leap over the attacks from the enemy and circumstances in life.

Our feet can take us into places that can be ungodly or unprofitable.  There was a song some years ago that became a hit and the lyrics went like this, "these boots were made for walking and that's just what they'll do, one of these days these boots are gonna walk all over you "   Not today!  Walking over people is not the way the Believer obtain victory...it's through the gospel of peace and faith in God's word as we demonstrate God's love toward others.  The gospel of peace will either draw them or drive them away and there are some folk that you need to say, "bye bye" to

God's ways appear to be ways of defeat by the natural mind, but the opposite happens that the natural mind can't conceive, because God's ways must be spiritually discerned.  We discern spiritual things with spiritual and recieve a spiritual outcome that we call a miracle.  So think about it the next time you put on your shoes, make sure that you cover those gators or gorgeous heels with the outer covering of the gospel of peace and the rest of the armor of God..  You will be surprised how your day will go and you will be armed and dangerous.
